All the children with childhood leukaemias in Kuwait are treated by
recognised protocols and followed up only in this Unit, the
incidence of leukaemia in Kuwait being 2.5per 100,000 per year under
15years of age. Though bulk of other haematological disorders are
managed in our Unit, some are treated in 5 other regeonal hospitals
in Kuwait.
Our Thalassaemia center
in this unit provides both day care as well as out patient care with
most uptodate management and evaluation to 75% children with
thalassaemia in Kuwait. Our reuslts of management of childhood
leukaemias and other paediatric haematological disorders are
comparable to those in developed countries. A team for bone marrow
transplant is being formed and the construction of BMT center close
to our building is going on, hope fully to be completed within a

management of our patients.
