Al- Sabah
Hospital is among the first and biggest health project accomplished by the
health
ministry. Its construction and commissioning took two full years before it
was inaugurated under the sponsorship of the Late Amir of Kuwait
Sheikh Abdullah
Al-Salem Al-Sabah
on June 20, 1962

The opening ceremony was attended by Kuwait top officials, member of the
diplomatic corps accredited to Kuwait and the Arab League Assistant Secretary
General Mr. Al-Darderi
Ismail who was honored by His Highness the Amir to cut the ribbon to mark the
official inauguration of the hospital.

Now , Al - Sabah Hospital became bigger , and our Pediatric
Department renewed all of its departments. Many new units and wards were built
and now the number of patients
became more. Hospital services extended and working staff increased so
much.

This new hospital was donated by National Bank of Kuwait , so the hospital named
as NBK-Hospital ( National Bank of Kuwait Hospital )
The hospital is connected through a passage to the main Pediatric Department
The hospital contains 3 subspecialties units :
Hematology
Neurology and
Developmental units. Also it contains laboratory and radiology units,
pharmacy , theatre room.
